As you read these words, it's possible that the notion of homeschooling has crossed your mind. Perhaps you've never considered seeking guidance, but you recognize that something is amiss, and life could be more manageable. I understand. Often, we believe that Google can solve all our problems, but it's merely a search engine. What I offer is years of experience, a desire to help you lead a joyful life, and the wisdom of a former homeschooling Mama who was once a hot mess. My goal is to help families like yours reduce their stress by providing proven systems and strategies that work.
Greetings, I'm Yalonda- a Pastor's wife, former public-school educator, mother of two adult children, and two energetic teens. For 13 years, I have homeschooled my children, and in addition to preaching and teaching the Gospel, I am an educational entrepreneur and community builder. I am a passionate advocate of parents who have been called to disciple their children.
I am the Co-Founder of Black Homeschoolers of Birmingham and Black Homeschoolers of Montgomery. I am the visionary behind the highly successful "Positioned For Success" Homeschool Summit, one of the country's largest gatherings of Black homeschooling families.
My most significant and most cherished endeavor is Legacy Builders Academy. About a decade ago, when I was a passionate but burnt-out teacher, I had a wild idea: what if I could take everything I loved about teaching and fix the things that didn't make sense? My company's primary goal has always been to reduce the stress on homeschooling families. Since our launch in 2021, I have achieved this by providing administrative support and coaching, and now our Microschool offers homeschooling families a customized learning plan tailored to the needs of students.
I am most proud that my work empowers parents to focus on their families by embracing non-traditional learning to raise emotionally, socially, and intellectually sound children.
